Pimsleur® equals success. Just one 30-minute lesson a day gets you speaking and understanding like no other program. Japanese Phase 1, Units 11-15 build on material taught in prior units. Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation, and new vocabulary and structures. Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. Each lesson contains practice for vocabulary introduced in previous lessons. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension, and on learning to speak Japanese.

It works, but some negatives.

I am learning this way. The concept makes sense, basically the book is standing in for an instructor and drilling phrases. The negatives are that the pronunciation is not always clear and there is no way to check the spelling and pronunciation as there is no accompanying text. Also, the gaps given to recall and speak the phrase are too short. You would have to have immediate recall and speak quickly to have time to repeat. I listen at .75 speed for most lessons. If you are going to use this system, I would buy it through The Pimsleur app so you get the accompanying text and flash cards.

actually learning sentence structure and grammar

successfully learning Japanese and starting to think in sentences and form them on my own. I learn in the few minutes it takes me to drive to and from work each day.

Like it . Much wow. Thaksam

I actually remember stuff I learn from this course. I feel the satisfaction of being able to speak. Although I might not be able to speak it all. I know a lot of phrases. That makes me feel good.

Best language program

Love it. Easy to follow and repeats every so often to remind you of what you have learned so you don't forget. follows a progressive pattern that builds your vocabulary while making it interesting.

Very helpful

I appreciate how thorough these are with pronunciation, context, and usage. It's good supplemental material for grammar and vocabulary. I recommend learning Hiragana and Romanji to help better understand what the speakers are saying if that's anything anyone struggles with.

Intervals have audio edited in?

Great way to learn, but half way through unit 11 the intervals given to respond has audio of words not learnt edited in. It's very off-putting and make sit difficult to focus
