Houston, get ready for an incredible weekend packed with holiday magic and festive fun! Today, Saturday, November 29th, the holiday season is officially kicking off across the city with multiple tree lighting celebrations happening right now.

Head down to the Post Oak Hotel this evening from 5 to 8 PM for their Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration featuring live musical performances, holiday beverages, and a special visit from Santa Claus. It's free with an RSVP and located at 1600 West Loop South. Meanwhile, over in Galveston, the Downtown Tree Lighting is happening at Saengerfest Park also from 5 to 8 PM tonight. You'll catch Santa, live entertainment including performances by the Galveston Ballet, and the illumination of Galveston's beautiful Christmas tree. And if you're in League City, don't miss their Tree Lighting Ceremony at League Park from 6 to 7 PM, featuring hot cocoa and festive photo opportunities, completely free.

For something different tonight, Disney's Mary Poppins is performing at Playhouse 1960 near Cypress with showtimes at 3 PM and 7:30 PM. Tickets are around 22 to 25 dollars per person, and parking is free along Gant Road.

Looking ahead to Sunday, December 1st, West University Place is hosting their Tree Lighting at Friends Park from 5:30 to 7 PM with dance performances, games, face painting, and a laser light show. Completely free admission.

Come December 3rd, the TMC Helix Park Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony is a must-visit free event at 1885 Old Spanish Trail. It starts at 5:30 PM and features live ensemble entertainment, complimentary hot cocoa and treats, plus a spectacular light display across the entire park. You'll just need to RSVP.

The Energy Corridor Tree Lighting on December 4th from 6 to 9 PM is absolutely massive. They're lighting up a 50-foot Christmas tree with live music, local food vendors, photos with Santa, a holiday market, and an incredible drone light show. That's at 13210 Katy Freeway and requires only an RSVP.

If you want something continuous throughout the season, Memorial City Lights Up runs nightly through December 31st from 6 to 9 PM, featuring Houston's tallest Christmas tree illuminated against millions of holiday lights.
